Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Apologies for not posting in a while, but I've been trying to get some of these photos organized. So here are a couple of photos of some of the wildlife. Taking pictures of the wildlife down here is hard, pretty much every creature in the jungle sees or hears me coming long before I see them. Walking along the trails in my community, I see large and small lizards darting into the forest too quickly for me to photograph, or as I approach a river crossing I'll see a heron flying away down stream. I've even seen several of those lizards that can walk across water running away as I approach. So here are a couple of creatures I've managed to catch with my camera.

I've seen this guy around a few times, and the colors are even brighter in person especially the blue feathers on his chin that you can barely see in this picture. A quick internet search told me that he is a broad-billed motmot.

This is a nest of faloffa or bullet ants, so called because their bite is said to hurt as much as being shot with a bulllet. Luckily, I haven't been bitten yet. They are pretty distinctive since they are about 1 inch long, and the largest ants you'll likely ever see.

This is just a pretty blue dragon fly.
